Women's Basketball Has Four Honored On Academic All-District Team

SAN ANTONIO — The quartet of Quezia Bertoni, Raynne Malik, Aina Maynou, and Andrea Montesinos from St. Mary's University Women's Basketball was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team on Tuesday.
 
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Eligible student-athletes require sophomore standing academically and athletically, at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and the student-athlete must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must have started in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
 
Bertoni is a senior from São Paulo, Brazil, Maynou is a senior from Cabrera de Mar, Spain, and Montesinos is a junior from Valencia, Spain, and are all majoring in exercise & sport science, while Malik is a sophomore biology major from London, Ontario, Canada. Maynou, Montesinos and Malik all played in all 27 games, with Maynou and Malik starting in all 27, while Bertoni played in 24 games, starting in 20. 
 
The quartet helped the Rattlers qualify for the Lone Star Conference Tournament for the first time since the team's first year in the league (2019-20). The Rattlers finished 16-11 overall and 11-9 in the Lone Star.
