SAN ANTONIO — The St. Mary's University Women's Basketball team has been selected to compete in the Hoops in Hawaii Tip-Off Classic to kick off the 2026-27 season.

Valerie Huizar. "This is such a unique opportunity for our players, and we're proud to have built a respectable program to earn a spot in this impressive event."
The event will take place Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at Chaminade University and is an eight-team traditional bracket tournament with three games guaranteed for each club. Chaminade is a sister school of St. Mary's and represents two of the three Marianist schools in the United States. The other six teams in the tournament will be Alaska Anchorage, Colorado Mesa, Lone Star Conference foe Lubbock Christian, Hawaii Pacific, Western Colorado and Winona State. The pairings and game times will be announced closer to the competition date.
The tournament will mark the first time the Rattlers have competed in Women's Basketball in the Aloha State.
