First Pitch
• One week after Head Coach Donna Fields won her 1,000th game, the St. Mary's Softball team is one victory shy of its 1,400th in program history. The Rattlers sit at 1,399 wins - and Fields has won 1,002 of those as head coach after becoming the 14th Division II coach to win 1,000 against Eastern New Mexico on Friday.
• The Rattlers are receiving votes in the NFCA poll, one of eight Lone Star Conference teams either ranked or getting votes. This is the fifth-straight week StMU has appeared in the coaches poll.
• Freshman Jadyn Abrego needed just 74 pitches in her complete game, 3-1 win over #6 West Texas on Sunday. She recorded six outs on the first pitch of the at bat and four more after they saw just one pitch.
• Senior Tiffany Licon was hit by a pitch against ENMU in game one. It marked the first time in her career (144th game) that she was plunked.
• In 27 of the 35 games this season, the Rattlers have scored first and they are 24-3 in those contests.
• St. Mary's is currently tied for 9th in the nation and second in the Lone Star Conference in fielding percentage at .976. The Rattlers have 24 errors in 969 chances this season.
• The Rattlers are now 3-7 all-time against the sixth-ranked team in the nation (Division II only) and all three wins have come over the Buffaloes of WT.
• Freshman Jamison Holder has found her stroke, hitting three home runs in the last seven games and two of the three are first pitch home runs.
• Senior Bari Christian (7) and freshman Cassidy Mageors (3) are responsible for the last 10 stolen bases for the Rattlers. Christian stole six last week alone, with four coming in the wins over West Texas A&M.
