• Only two teams in the Division II Era have started faster than the 2022 team. The 2001 team started 21-2, while the 2004 squad was 20-3 through the first 23 games and both of those teams advanced to the NCAA Regionals. It is fourth time a Rattlers team has posted a 19-4 record through 23 contests.
• St. Mary's pitchers have held opposing batters to .067 (1-for-15) with the bases loaded this season.
• On the flip side, Rattlers hitters are hitting .333 (9-for-27) with the bags full of Snakes.
• Head Coach Donna Fields is closing in on a major milestone. She is now seven wins shy of 1,000 for her career. There are 14 other Division II coaches and 41 in the entirity of NCAA who have reached the milestone.
• Senior Jayme Johns has been on base in 19 straight games, missing only the season opener. She also has the team's longest active hitting streak at eight consecutive.
• After leading the nation in double plays a season ago, the Rattlers have continued to play great defense, turning nine DP this season to rank 8th nationally and second in the Lone Star Conference.
• The Rattlers pitching staff currently ranks 18th in the nation with a 1.81 ERA. That number also ranks third in the Lone Star.
• The Rattlers have done a great job so far of getting the early lead, outscoring the opponents 43-7 through the first two innings.
• For the first time since 2018, the Rattlers are nationally ranked, entering the poll this week at #25. StMU is one of seven Lone Star teams ranked.
• Senior CF Bari Christian now ranks ninth in St. Mary's history with 46 stolen bases and her .920 stolen base percentage ranks fourth (46-for-50). Christian has stolen 11 bases this season and has been successful in her last 28 attempts.
