Second-Straight Five-Game Tourney on Tap for Softball

•    After reaching base in 19 of the final 20 games last season, senior Victoria Aldridge has hit safely in the first five games of 2022.

•    The Rattlers played eight true freshmen during the Arkansas Tech Winter Invitational. Only Lauren Ramos played in all five games.

•    During the NFCA Annual Convention, head coach Donna Fields was inducted into the Coaches Hall of Fame.

•    The Rattlers won an eight-inning contest over #20 Central Oklahoma on Sunday. The team is now 3-1 all-time against teams ranked #20 in the NFCA Coaches Poll.

•    Senior CF Bari Christian stole the 36th base of her career in Conroe. She is now 36-for-40 and has been successful in her last 18 attempts.

•    The Rattlers play their first 16 games of the season away from the friendly confines of The Park at StMU.

•    Both RF Abigale Carney and 1B Amber Gonzales have chosen to return in 2022 for their "Covid Year." 

•    2022 marks the 41st season of St. Mary's softball. Head Coach Donna Fields has been a part of 27 of those 41 as either a player or coach.

•    Senior RF Abigale Carney begins her fifth season tied for seventh in St. Mary's history with 26 home runs. The record is 44 held by Roni Garcia (2002-2005). She is also knotted for 9th with eight sacrifice flies.
