Texas A&M International (8-4, 1-3) at St. Mary's • 1 p.m.
Opening Tip
• St. Mary's looks to snap a four-game losing skid hosting Texas A&M Kingsville on Friday to wrap up the 2022 season before flipping the calendar to 2023, welcoming Texas A&M International to Bill Greehey Arena on the 1st.
• Freshman forward Gabby Elliott has recorded 10 rebounds in each of the last two games. She is the first freshman since Kiara Etheridge in 2013-14 to bring down 10 or more boards in back-to-back games.
• In the first four conference games, the Rattlers have already played four overtime periods with double overtime contests against Western New Mexico and Midwestern State. It already ties for the most overtime periods played in league action in St. Mary's history, tying the 2012-13 and 2019-20 teams.
• In the last four games, the Rattlers have been led in scoring by four different players and seven players have either led or tied for the team lead in scoring in 10 games.
• The 44.70 rebounds per game the Rattlers are getting per game would be the highest single-season average in St. Mary's Division II history and the second-highest ever, trailing only the record of 46.65 by the 1987-88 team. Surprisingly, no Rattler ranks in the top 15 in rebounds in the Lone Star Conference individual statistics.
• Senior Briley Perkins sank three three-pointers against Schreiner, giving her 116 in her career. She needs six more to appear on the St. Mary's career charts. Jackie Woods (2011-14) currently sits in 10th with 122 makes.
• Senior Tonia Bilic has been extremely consistent this season, scoring in double figures in seven straight and has at least eight points in all 10 contests this year. Bilic entered this season with only five double figure scoring games in her first three years (57 games).
