Opening Tip
•   St. Mary's concludes its five-game home stretch to start the year by hosting North American on Tuesday at 6:30. The Stallions were recently admitted to the NAIA and are 1-4 on the season. The Rattlers they play an exhibition contest at Sam Houston on Saturday at 2 p.m. (note time change).
•   The Rattlers are the lowest penalized team in the Lone Star Conference, committing only 15.8 fouls per game through the first two weeks. StMU also ranks second in the league in rebound margin at +7.2.
•   Tuesday will be the first-ever meeting between the Rattlers and the Stallions of North American. Though it's an exhibition against Sam Houston, the Rattlers are 2-3 all-time against the Bearkats, last meeting in 1987. StMU is 1-2 in Huntsville.
•   The 23 offensive rebounds against Dallas Christian on Saturday are the most in a game for St. Mary's since they grabbed 30 against Western New Mexico on Feb. 13, 2020.
•   The five straight games to open the season at home are the most in school history. The 1983-84 team played its first four games of the year before a road game.
•   Senior Natalia Ryng currently ranks fourth in the Lone Star Conference in total rebounds with 31 and eighth in rebounds per game at 7.8.
•   Senior Tonia Bilic needs six more rebounds for 200 in her career, while junior Bella Hughes is three shy of 100.Â
•   Sophomore Faith Phillips scored her 200th point in the win over Dallas Christian and sits at 202. It was Phillips first double-double of her career with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
•   Senior Briley Perkins sank two three-pointers in the opening weekend to bring her career total to 106, needing 16 more to appear on the St. Mary's career charts. Jackie Woods (2011-14) currently sits in 10th with 122 makes.
•   Head Coach Valerie Huizar became the seventh WBB coach in school history to win the first game of her career with the 77-74 victory against Regis. Huizar is the ninth coach in Rattler history.
•   St. Mary's returns seven letterwinners and two starters from last season's team and welcomes six newcomers to the fold. Senior Briley Perkins started in 19 of the 28 games, while sophomore Faith Phillips started in 23 as a true freshman. Four other returners had at least two starts in 2021-22.
•   As a freshman, Faith Phillips recorded multiple rebounds in all 28 games, including six games of 10 or more and grabbed two or more in the first four games of 2022-23.Â
