Men's Tennis battles in early season matches

SAN ANTONIO — Tough start to the weekend for the Rattlers as they faced Incarnate Word. 
In Doubles; 
1. Bojan Popovic/Jeremiah Gonzalez (STMU) def. Sebastian Mortier/Gabriel Evans (UIW-M) 8-3 
2. Francisco Bendana/Joey Vatanadilok (UIW-M) def. Jose Antelo/James Weatherhead 
(STMU) 8-5 
3. Caleb Dyer/Luke Godwin (UIW-M) def. Saisaurav Konakanchi/Alex Gee (STMU) 8-2 

Popovic and Gonzalez held their own with a solid 8-3 victory in doubles. 
In Singles; 
1. Francisco Bendana (UIW-M) def. Bojan Popovic (STMU) 6-1, 6-2 
2. Sebastian Mortier (UIW-M) def. Jeremiah Gonzalez (STMU) 6-4, 3-6, 10-3 
3. Gabriel Evans (UIW-M) def. Jose Antelo (STMU) 4-6, 6-2, 12-10 
4. Joey Vatanadilok (UIW-M) def. Alex Gee (STMU) 6-3, 6-2 
5. Caleb Dyer (UIW-M) def. Felix Hollaway (STMU) 6-3, 6-1 
6. James Weatherhead (STMU) def. Rudy Bonilla (UIW-M) 7-5, 6-3 

Weatherhead found his stride and came back strong 7-5, 6-3.
