Men's Tennis racks up victories at Trinity Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — Jeremiah Gonzalez overcame all three of his opponents to highlight St. Mary's Men's Tennis at the Trinity Invitational over the weekend.

Gonzalez won his first match 6-2, 6-4; won his second 6-4, 6-3; and won a tough three-set battle, 4-6, 6-2 (4) in the finale.

Felix Hollaway gained victory over all three of his opponents as well, winning 6-4, 6-1 in the first and prevailing in three sets in the second match, 7-6, 3-6, (5). He was leading 4-2 when his opponent retired in his third match.

Jose Antelo racked up two victories in his flight, winning 6-3, 7-6 (3) in the first and 6-3, 7-5 in the second.

Brendan Brown and Saisaurav Konakanchi both hustled to three-set triumphs. Brown conquered his opponent 4-6, 6-4, (7). Konakanchi took down his opposition 4-6, 6-4, (7).

In doubles, Gonzalez and Popovic carried out two wins, 8-5 and 8-2, and Antelo and Hollaway came out on top 8-2. The Brown and Konakanchi duo enjoyed a tight 8-6 victory.
