ROHNERT PARK, Calif. — St. Mary's Women's Golfer Allison Howarth ended a memorable postseason run Wednesday, finishing the NCAA West Super Regional in a tie for 21st place.

Howarth (RS-So., San Antonio) was short of advancing to the National Championship, which takes the Top 3 individuals from non-advancing teams from the regional tournament, finishing seven strokes behind the individual champion.

Competing as an individual, Howarth carded a 77 for the final round, finishing with a combined score of 227 with scores of 71 and 79 for the first two rounds of the tournament on the 5,842-yard course at the Foxtail Golf Club.

Claiming the NCAA West Super Regional Tournament was Tarleton State with a combined team stroke count of 893.

Finishing in a tie for first place individually was Midwestern State's Brenna Moore and the Academy of Art's Crystal Wang who both finished with a final score of 220.

St. Edward's and Sonoma State followed in second and third place to earn a trip to the NCAA National Championship.

Howarth's incredible postseason run marks a memorable one for the program as her first round of 71 that included four birdies marked the program's best round at an NCAA Regional while her final score of 227 is the program's second-best outing at a three-round NCAA Regional.

Howarth also entered and left the tournament with the program's best single-season stroke average with seven Top 5 finishes on the season to earn her spot in the NCAA Regional as the program's first regional competitor since the 2007 season and first under head coach Chris Massoletti. Howarth finished the season with a stroke average of 75.60 to set the new program record for best single-season stroke average.

On her awarded season, Howarth was named All-Conference First Team, All-Heartland Conference Tournament Team and won her first career title at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout.
