Rattlers improve to 4-0 in the Rattler Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — The wins keep coming for No. 14-ranked St. Mary's Softball.
 
The Rattlers won their 11th and 12th in a row Saturday, beating Central Oklahoma 2-0 and Eastern New Mexico 3-1 at the Rattler Invitational to improve to 4-0 at the tournament.
 
The tourney will wrap up Sunday with the Rattlers playing Midwestern State at 12 p.m. and Tarleton State at 2 p.m. at the Softball Stadium inside The Park at St. Mary's.
 
Against Central Oklahoma, Emily Brittain picked up the win in the circle for her 11th victory on the season. In the nightcap, Maricela Bissaro started and struck out two in four innings for her second win on the year, while Vianna Gutierrez came in in relief to earn the save. Gutierrez struck out one in three innings of work for St. Mary's (16-3).
 
Laura Benavidez kept her red-hot week going against Eastern New Mexico, picking up a pair of RBIs for 12 on the week. Katie Nichols added an RBI in the game.
 
In the opener against UCO, Nicole Sardelich had an RBI and scored a run.
