Heartland's top scorer Pullins nabs third Player of the Week honor

SAN ANTONIO — Heartland Conference Player of the Week awards are becoming the norm for Morgan Pullins as she notched her third straight honor this week, the league announced today.
 
Currently the Heartland Conference's leading scorer and rebounder, Pullins (Frankin, Mich.) was a power over Texas A&M-Kingsville in the Rattlers' lone game last week to earn her her third straight Player of the Week award this season.
 
Pullins scored 27 points while pulling in 15 rebounds in the win over the Javelinas for her fifth double-double on the season. She shot an impressive 72.2 percent from the field and recorded two blocks and one steal.
 
On the season, Pullins is averaging 21.3 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, recording over 20 points in five of the Rattlers' eight games.
 
Pullins has won three out of the four weekly awards given out by the conference so far this season with this week marking her sixth career time earning the honor.
 
The win over the Javelinas has the Rattlers at a solid 6-2 record before heading into conference play, which starts on Thursday, December 18 at 5:30 p.m. when StMU faces Oklahoma Panhandle State in Goodwell, Okla.
