SAN ANTONIO — Lauren Holman is now the mark for blocks for the St. Mary's Volleyball program.

Holman (So., Rowlett, Texas) became the program's all-time record holder for both total blocks and block solos in a three-set match in the 0-3 loss to McMurry Thursday night.  The record-setting night was a tight match as the Rattlers fell 25-22, 25-20 and 25-23.

The new record for the program is now four block solos in a three-set match and 10 total blocks in a three-set match thanks to Holman's stellar defense against the War Hawks. The former No. 1 total blocks leader was Stephanie Crowell who recorded nine total blocks during the Rattlers' 2003 season. For block solos in a three-set match, several Rattlers held the record with three solo blocks, most recently Samantha Weber and Lauren Sudano in the 2007 season.

Holman has a season-total 13 block solos so far this year, just six away from her season total of 19 in her first season, and a team-high 28 block assists.

Holman tallied a team-high 11 points against non-conference McMurry (3-7) at Bill Greehey Arena while Jenna Paul (So., Alvin, Texas) led with nine kills. Mikayla Bass (So., Coppell, Texas) led the Rattlers in assists with 16 followed by Rachael Scicchitano (Fr., McKinney, Texas) with 14.

Kelsey Huber (Jr., San Antonio) was versatile on the court for the Rattlers (3-6), leading with 15 digs as well as recording seven kills and four block assists.

St. Mary's will remain at home to face rival St. Edward's at noon Saturday at Bill Greehey Arena.
