LUBBOCK, Texas — After going on a three-game winning streak that included two sweeps, St. Mary's Volleyball fell to Texas A&M-Commerce in three sets Saturday in the final game of the Lubbock Christian Regional Crossover.
The Rattlers were looking for their third straight regional upset and fourth straight win and contended well against Texas A&M-Commerce, falling 25-22, 25-14 and 25-20.
St. Mary's (3-5) played a heated final set that consisted of 10 tied scores but the Lions, who house an impressive 8-1 record, were able to close it out with a .262 overall hitting percentage to take it in three sets.
Kelsey Huber (Jr., San Antonio) led with a team-high 12 kills and had eight digs, the second-most on the team. Libero
Victorria Martinez (Jr., Arlington, Texas) led the Rattlers with 12 digs as well as two service aces.
Laruen Holman (So., Rowlett, Texas) recorded a team-best .333 hitting percentage with eight kills off 21 attacks and one error. Holman also recorded a team-high three block solos to bring her season total to nine.

Rachael Scicchitano (McKinney) continued to perform well under the starting setter position, playing in all three sets.
The Rattlers return home for their next contest against provisional Heartland Conference member McMurry at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bill Greehey Arena.
