GOODWELL, Okla. — No home runs were needed this time.

St. Mary's wrapped up its series sweep of Oklahoma Panhandle State playing good, old small ball, winning 5-0 on Saturday to remain atop the Heartland Conference standings.

The Rattlers (37-12, 12-0) broke open a scoreless game with one run in the third, added another in the fourth and closed out the contest with three in the seventh.

Taylor Vidrine's (So,, San Antonio) seventh-inning double drove in a pair of runs, while Christina Rodriguez (Sr., San Antonio) and Sarah Perez (Sr., San Marcos, Texas) added an RBI each.

Haley Richter (So., Hondo, Texas), whose pair of grand slams fueled Friday's wins, went 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Emily Brittain got the win, striking out three in five innings to improve to 22-4 on the season.

The Rattlers won the three-game series by a combined score of 34-1.

St. Mary's will wrap up its weekend action with a single game at West Texas A&M at 1 p.m. Sunday in Canyon, Texas.
