SAN ANTONIO – The No. 48 St. Mary's University Women's Tennis team suffered its second consecutive loss after losing 6-1 to Texas A&M–Corpus Christi on Wednesday afternoon.
The Lady Rattlers fell to 3-2 on the season.
The visiting Islanders swept the doubles point to quickly take a 1-0 lead. In singles play they extended that lead, taking five of the six singes matches en route to a 6-1 victory.

Mariana Rong continued her unbeaten streak this season, winning 6-2, 7-6(3) over AMCC's Maider Martin. At the remaining singles positions the Lady Rattlers failed to win a set, but kept each match competitive.
“They played better than us today,” St. Mary's head coach
Lisa Dausin said. “I felt like we competed at every spot. A few adjustments and this could have been a different result. Our girls will keep learning and improve for next match.”
The Lady Rattlers' next match will be at home against Northeastern State University at 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. Mary's Tennis Courts.
