ARLINGTON, Texas — A trio of St. Mary's University Women's Tennis players were honored at the Lone Star Conference pre-championship banquet on Wednesday for their efforts throughout the 2025-26 season.
Alessia Terlizzi was named to the All-Academic team and First-Team All-Conference in singles and honorable mention in doubles, while
Selina Wu was honored on the Second-Team All-Conference in singles and to the All-Sportsmanship team, and
Gia Posito was an honorable mention in doubles.
Terlizzi, a senior from Andria, Italy, enters the Lone Star Conference Tournament with a national ranking of #58. She is 14-5 in the spring and went 7-3 in Lone Star Conference play and grabbed the team-clinching point four times. The international business major earns her first-ever All-Academic nod, and this is her third time on the all-conference teams after earning honorable mention singles in 2024 and second team in 2025.
Wu, a junior from San Gabriel, Calif., is on a five-match winning streak where she's defeated three nationally-ranked players, earning herself a spot in the ITA rankings this week at #62. She is 19-3 during the spring season and was 8-1 in LSC action, and has also clinched four team victories for the Rattlers. Wu is also a three-time all-conference selection after earning first-team honors in both 2024 and 2025.
Posito, a senior from Houston, and Terlizzi were honorable mention doubles selections. The pair enters the postseason with a #32 national ranking and a 9-4 spring record, and a 15-5 overall record after finishing as runners-up at the ITA South Central Regional last fall. The tandem was 5-2 in Lone Star play, though they didn't team up in the final two weeks.
The Rattlers begin LSC Tournament play on Thursday at 9 a.m. against Angelo State at the Arlington Tennis Center.
