2014-2015 (Senior): Ended a spectacular career as the program’s most decorated player, becoming the first player in St. Mary’s Athletics history to be named a two-time All-American and two-time Academic All-American … Was named an ITA Doubles All-American with doubles partner Cristina Lopez as the pair finished the season ranked No. 7 in the nation … Was also named a Capital One Academic All-American and Capital One All-District … Led the Rattlers to the program’s second straight national tournament appearance, advancing to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history … Was named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week six times during the season, ending her career with 18 Player of the Week awards, the most awards in any sport across NCAA Division II … Claimed her third straight Heartland Conference Player of the Year award and was selected All-Conference First Team in singles and doubles …  Ended the season ranked No. 32 in the nation in singles while the team ended ranked No. 13 in the nation … In singles as the Rattlers’ No. 1, went 24-3 overall and 18-2 in duals singles for the most singles victories on the team … Was 7-1 over her last 10 matches, going 1-1 against nationally ranked opponents and 2-1 against regionally ranked opponents … In doubles, went 27-3 overall and 19-3 in dual doubles, going 1-1 against nationally ranked opponents and 3-0 against regionally ranked opponents … Was also named the St. Mary’s Athletics Student-Athlete of the Year for the second straight year. 

2013-2014 (Junior): Continued to strive as a program great, ending the season ranked No. 32 in the nation in singles play and No. 16 nationally in doubles play along with fellow Rattler Cristina Lopez … Went 20-4 overall in singles and 15-2 in dual singles as the Rattlers’ No. 1, ending the season on a six-match winning streak and going 6-1 over her last 10 matches … Went 22-4 overall in doubles play and 17-3 in dual doubles … Earned her second straight Heartland Conference Player of the Award and second straight All-Conference selection … Led the conference in Player of the Week awards with five won throughout the season … Also was stellar academically, earning a Capital One Academic All-American and All-District selection … Was also named the St. Mary’s Athletics Student-Athlete of the Year.  

2012-2013 (Sophomore):  Became a historic player from her very first year as a Rattler, becoming the first women’s tennis player to be named ITA All-American in the program’s history … Rose to rank No. 23 in the nation, the highest rank in the program’s history, after slamming for an impressive 21-0 record in singles play … Her 21-match long winning streak also earned her the ITA South Central Region Player to Watch and the Heartland Conference Player of the Year … Along with her perfect singles record, Rong also went 16-7 in doubles play to help earn her six Heartland Conference Player of the Week awards. 

Arkansas State University: Played for one year under head coach Marina Engelbrecht and was named to the Academic Honor Roll.

High School: Racked up numerous honors under head coach Donna Van Auken including the State and Regional Championships ... Earned District MVP both years she was on the team her junior and senior years ... Also named All-Area her junior and senior years ... Was a part of the Academic Honor Roll.

Personal: Parents are Jianguo Rong and Yingzhu Ma ... Majoring in chemistry and biology.
