KERRVILLE, Texas — The No.44 Men's Tennis team was victorious over Schreiner University on Friday, winning 6-3.

With half of the team playing New Mexico State at home, this match served as a test for a young squad consisting of four freshman and one sophomore.

The results were promising with the Rattlers winning both doubles matches played and winning four of five singles matches.

“This was a good opportunity for some of our younger guys,” assistant coach Stephan Poole said. “We are happy with the victory. This also showed us some areas to improve on.”

St. Mary's next match is at home against local NAIA rival Our Lady of the Lake University at the St. Mary's Tennis Courts at 2 p.m. Friday.

St. Mary's University, as a Catholic Marianist University, fosters the formation of people in faith and educates leaders for the common good through community service, integrated liberal arts and professional education, and academic excellence.
