Lady Rattlers record highest-scoring game on season, stomp OPSU

GOODWELL, Okla. — Women's Basketball blazed past Oklahoma Panhandle State Thursday, trumping the Aggies 77-52 to mark its fifth straight win.
 
The 25-point victory was spurred by flexed lineup with starting forward Morgan Pullins (Jr., Franklin, Mich.) recording her third straight double-double with a team-high 14 points and 11 rebounds.
 
Dezirae Elias (So., Chandler, Ariz.) provided a huge spark of the bench, going 100 percent from the field (4-4), including two 3-pointers, and at the line (3-3) to record 13 points. Elias also tailed a team-high four steals and two assists.
 
Starting guard Kyra Littlejohn (Jr., Southfield, Mich.) was also hot at the line, going 8-8 for 12 points. Jackie Woods (Sr., San Antonio) added nine points and Lia Kioa (Sr., Phoenix) and Danielle Vargas (Jr., Edinburg, Texas) chipped in eight points apiece.
 
The Rattlers were dominant throughout the Heartland Conference matchup with OPSU, pulling away with 14 steals and shooting 44.1 percent from the field to the Aggies' 27.5 percent.
 
St. Mary's went into the half with a sizable lead, 33-20, and were able to maintain it throughout the final frame to record its largest-margin win and highest scoring game on the season.
 
The Rattlers improved to 7-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference play with the win while OPSU fell to 0-9 on the season and 0-3 in league play.
 
St. Mary's will remain on the road to play Newman at 1 p.m. Saturday in Wichita, Kan.
