SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Women's Soccer took the field for its last game of the regular season Monday, falling to No. 13 St. Edward's, 2-0.

The Rattlers were able to knot up the Hilltoppers in the first frame as they went in deadlocked at the half, 0-0, but a penalty kick at the start of the second frame changed the momentum of the game and SEU ended their regular season undefeated.

Hilltopper Megan Anderson became the Hilltoppers' leading scorer Monday, netting both goals for St. Edward's. St. Edward's improved to 14-0-2 overall and 9-0 in conference with the win.

Alyssa Taramona (So., Forney, Texas) had her work cut out for her in the net, totaling five saves in 11 shots faced against the No. 13 team in the nation.

The Hilltoppers contested the Rattlers as they were only able to snake off two shots for the match. Leah Snelson (Sr., Dallas) and Kristal Williams (Fr., Ponder, Texas) had the looks with Williams' being on target.

The Rattlers ended their regular season at .500 with an 8-8-1 overall record and a 5-4 conference record.

St. Mary's will have a quick turnaround for its postseason as it enters the Heartland Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed, playing No. 2 seed Dallas Baptist at 12 p.m. Thursday in Austin, Texas.
