THACKERVILLE, Okla. — The St. Mary's University Women's Golf team is tied for fourth place after one round at the WinStar Invitational, hosted by defending national champions, DBU.
The Rattlers are seven over par through 18 holes and six shots off the lead by Southeastern Oklahoma State in the small, eight-team field.
Junior
Brielle Burns (Houston) shot an even-par 72 on Sunday afternoon, shooting 10 straight holes at par, and is tied for fifth place. Senior
Taylor Wilczek (Anthem, Ariz.) is one stroke behind Burns after carding a 73.
Juniors
Sophia Perkins (Sydney, Australia) and
Sabree Lefebvre (Riverview, Fla.) are currently tied for 20th place after posting identical rounds of 75.
Sophomore
Manon Verret (Toulouse, France) is one shot behind the two juniors after firing a 76 on day one of the fall season, and newcomer
Audrey McIntyre, a sophomore from Austin, Texas who transferred from Bowling Green State, is tied for 40th place after turning in a round of 80.
Emma Thompson from SEOSU holds a one-stroke lead on the individual leaderboard after posting a round of 68, and she is one of four players who entered the clubhouse under par after the first round.
The eight teams will golf 18 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday to wrap up the first tournament of the year.
