RICHARDSON, Texas — In the 2026 edition of the Lone Star Conference Preseason Women's Soccer poll, St. Mary's University has been selected to finish sixth in the 15-team race according to head coaches, communications staff and selected media.
The Rattlers received one first-place vote and 443 points, missing the top five by 16 points. DBU, coming off the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2025, has been chosen to repeat as titlists, garnering 662 points and 38 of the 45 first-place votes. Midwestern State (2 1st-place votes, 583 points) edged out Texas Woman's (3, 581) for second place, while UT Dallas (1, 556) and UT Tyler (459 points) round out the top five in the poll.

Marily Garza Contreras (Duncanville, Texas) were named offensive and defensive players to watch in the Lone Star, respectively.
St. Mary's kicks off the 2026 season on Thursday, August 27, at 4 p.m., hosting Fort Lewis as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. The Rattlers have two exhibition games remaining on the slate, hosting Classics Elite Soccer Academy on Wed., Aug. 19, at 7:30 p.m. and a game against cross-town foe UTSA on Sunday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. at Park West. The game is a regular-season contest for the Roadrunners, but an exhibition for the Rattlers.
