5/27/2026 9:02:00 AM

SAN ANTONIO — A quartet of St. Mary's University Tennis student-athletes have been honored on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams.

Senior Alessia Terlizzi (Andria, Italy) from the Women's team, along with senior Aaron Ben Anton (Remseck, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany), junior Leonardo Fabbri (Faenza, Italy) and sophomore Lucas Castillo Sanchez (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) from the Men's team were all named to the teams.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, and must have competed in at least 75 percent of the team's competitions for the year.

Terlizzi finished the spring with a 15-5 record, all at the number one position. She was 7-3 in Lone Star Conference play, earning First-Team All-Conference honors in singles. Terlizzi was also an honorable mention selection in doubles after going 12-8 in the spring. She was also voted to the LSC All-Academic team, and this is her second time being named CSC Academic All-District.

Anton, a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, earns his first CSC Academic All-District award in his final year of competition. He finished 10-6 in singles, playing everywhere from two to six on the ladder, and he led the team with a 5-3 record against Lone Star foes. Anton earned honorable mention All-Conference honors.

Fabbri earned his second-straight Academic All-District nod after going 10-8 in singles with a 4-3 mark in Lone Star play. He played spots one through three on the ladder for the Rattlers, going 5-3 at number two, and was also voted an honorable mention selection in the Lone Star awards.

Castillo Sanchez led the Rattlers with a 14-5 singles record playing at one and two, and he was also 4-3 in LSC action. He was also 9-4 in doubles, spending time at all three ladder spots with five different partners. Castillo Sanchez was a Second-Team All-Conference pick and named to the Sportsmanship team.
