SAN ANTONIO — The St. Mary's University Men's and Women's Tennis teams were recently awarded the ITA Community Service Awards for the South Central Region.
Both the Men's and Women's Tennis teams are extremely active in helping the San Antonio community, hosting free clinics at Rohrbach Tennis Stadium, and assisting at Continuing the Heritage, Fiesta Oyster Bake, Rosary Church Health Fair, MLK March, Blue Auxiliary Methodist, Neighborhood Place, and several other department-wide events.
This is the sixth time the women's team has been honored, winning the award in 2020-2021 and 2024-2025, and earning honorable mention honors in 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024.
The men are earning the award for the fifth time, winning in both 2022-2023 and 2024-2025, while getting honorable mention honors in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at all levels — NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College.
