ARLINGTON, Texas — The St. Mary's University Men's Tennis team had three players honored on the Lone Star All-Conference teams, the league announced at its pre-championship banquet on Wednesday evening.
Lucas Castillo Sanchez was honored on both the Second-Team All-Conference singles as well as the Sportsmanship team, while
Aaron Ben Anton and
Leonardo Fabbri were both honorable mention selections in singles.
Castillo Sanchez is a sophomore from Wesley Chapel, Fla., and leads the team with a 14-4 dual record. He finished 4-3 in Lone Star play and was a two-time singles player of the week selection by the league office.
Anton, a senior from Remseck, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, was 5-3 in Lone Star play in his final campaign and has played at every ladder position except #1 this spring. He enters the tournament with a 10-6 spring record.
Fabbri is a junior from Faenza, Italy, who posted a 4-3 record in Lone Star Conference play, while he is 10-7 in duals, playing all his matches in the top three spots on the ladder. He is second on the club with 18 total victories in 2025-26, trailing only Castillo Sanchez's 22.
The team opens postseason play on Thursday at Noon against Midwestern State. The two teams meet for the second time in a week after the Mustangs got the win on Sunday in the regular season finale.
