Senior Day Ceremony will follow match
• The St. Mary's Women's Tennis team hosts #34 Midwestern State on Sunday at 10 a.m. for Senior Day. The Rattlers will honor Gia Posito and Alessia Terlizzi after the match for their contributions to the program. The Mustangs are the fourth nationally-ranked team the Rattlers have faced this season, and they are looking for their first win over a Division II nationally-ranked foe.
• Senior Alessia Terlizzi returned to the national singles rankings this week, in at No. 59. Terlizzi was ranked No. 61 on March 4, but fell out of the rankings the following week. She and Gia Posito are also up to No. 24 this week in doubles. It is the highest ranking of the spring for the tandem.
• St. Mary's is 8-14 all-time against Midwestern State with a 4-1 record at home. Last season, the Rattlers won a 4-3 thriller to clinch a share of the regular season title in Wichita Falls.
• Both Alessia Terlizzi (No. 1) and junior Selina Wu (No. 2) are 9-1 in their last 10 singles matches. Terlizzi is 13-3 in duals this springs, while Wu is 16-3. In Lone Star Conference play, Terlizzi leads the team with a 6-1 mark, while Wu is 5-1. Gia Posito and freshman Sarah Wooten are 5-2 against league foes.
• Three Rattlers have reached the 20-win threshold for the season, as Selina Wu has 24 and both Gia Posito and Alessia Terlizzi won their 20th last week on the road. Wu is now four wins shy of reaching 20 wins in dual action.
• Selina Wu is now 42-14 after winning both singles matches at line two last week. Her 42 victories tie her for ninth on the St. Mary's career victories list, tied with Felicity Delgado (2012-15). Her next win will also move Wu into 10th on the combined singles and doubles dual victories chart, as she is currently 82-31, while Gabi Ioannou (2020-23) is 10th with 83 combined wins.
• Freshman Isabella Olsson hit double digits in both singles and doubles dual wins after going 2-0 in both on the road last week. Olsson is now 11-9 in singles and 11-6 in doubles during the spring season.
• Senior Gia Posito is the only Rattler to have competed in all 20 doubles matches this spring, and she leads the club with a 15-5 dual record and is 24-6 overall. Alessia Terlizzi and Selina Wu have 18 doubles victories in 2025-26 and Wu is second in the spring with 13 wins.
• Senior Alessia Terlizzi was named the LSC Singles Tennis Player of the Week on March 18 , while Gia Posito and junior Selina Wu were named the Lone Star Conference doubles team of the week on Feb. 12.
