Quick Hits

•    St. Mary's wraps up the regular season at Texas A&M-Kingsville on Friday at 3 p.m. The Rattlers are 3-0 all-time against the Javelinas, and won 27-8 two weeks ago at the Rattler Invitational.

•    The Rattlers have locked up the two-seed at the third-annual Lone Star Conference Tournament, which will take place at DBU on March 27-28. The bracket will be released after the conclusion of the Rattlers game against the Javelinas.

•    Eleven of the 26 points the Rattlers have won in the second quarter (pyramids & tosses) this season have come on routine four. St. Mary's is 11-2-1 on routine four, while they are 15-32-2 in the other seven routines. It is the only routine in the first three quarters that the Rattlers have double digit wins.

•    Texas A&M-Kingsville has one student-athlete from San Antonio in freshman Evelyn Nordstrom from Sotomayor HS. The Rattlers do not have any athletes from the Kingsville area on their team.

•    The Rattlers are 12-6 all-time in Lone Star Conference games, heading into the final contest of the 2026 season. A win at Texas A&M-Kingsville would give St. Mary's a school record six conference vitories, passing last year's 5-3 record. 

•    St. Mary's swept the Lone Star Conference Athletes of the Week on March 3, as senior Sydnye Forde-Richardson was named Tumbler of the Week and senior Sanaa Johnson earned Stunter of the Week honors.

•    The Rattlers worked hard all week to pull out No. 7 in the first quarter for Senior Day. St. Mary's was able to successfully score a point against both St. Edward's and Texas Woman's in front of their home fans. 

•    As the Rattlers continue to rewrite the record book with the change in scoring format, the newest milestone was the 27 points scored against both Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas Woman's on Sunday. It is a new record, breaking the record of 24 scored in last year's sweep over the Javelinas. At the Royal Rumble, the Rattlers and Concordia Irvine established a new record for combined points in a game with 55, shattering the old record of 33 from 2024 against Missouri Baptist (17-16).  

•    St. Mary's remained No. 12 in the Division II STUNT rankings on March 11. The Rattlers were #10 in the Preseason polls, #18 on Feb. 18, #14 on Feb. 25 and have been #12 each of the last two weeks.

•    Flyers Karelen Bastida and Taliiah Wilson, along with base/tumbler Sanaa Johnson were all named to the Lone Star Conference Players to Watch List.

•    A total of 19 Rattlers were named to the Lone Star Commissioner's Honor Roll after the conclusion of the fall semester and both Sanaa Johnson and Courtney McClellan posted perfect 4.00 GPA's. Karelen Bastida, Alecka Brown, Kailey Carder, Morgan Cassias, Jillian Fontaine, Sydnye Forde-Richins, TIffany Gomez, Audrey Gregory, M'Lynn Griego, Victoria Gutierrez, Jocelyn Mendez, Yanelle Nicholson, Reagan Rigsby, Maddie Salinas, Riley Smith, Isabel Soto and Taliiah Wilson also recorded at least a 3.30 GPA.

•    The Rattlers have eight returning Lone Star All-Conference performers.  Alecka Brown, Talisa Gomez, M'Lynn Griego, Izabella Grinnell, Sanaa Johnson, and Yanelle Nicholson. Courtney McClellan and Jocelyn Mendez were both honored on the All-Conference Second Team.

•    St. Mary's also has five returners who were named to the 2025 Lone Star All-Academic team in Sanaa Johnson, Courtney McClellan, Yanelle Nicholson, Sydnye Forde-Richins and Riley Smith.

•    STUNT was accepted as an NCAA Sport and will begin with a 2027 Championship.
