ARLINGTON, Texas — After winning a share of the regular season title, the St. Mary's University Women's Tennis team was extremely well represented on the Lone Star All-Conference teams that were announced at the pre-championship banquet on Wednesday evening.
Five of the six players in the everyday lineup were honored by the league's coaches, while Director of Tennis
Bill Macom earned Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year for the first time at St. Mary's.
Selina Wu, a sophomore from San Gabriel, Calif., earned both First-Team All-Conference and All-Sportsmanship honors. She is ranked No. 48 in the nation with a 24-9 record, a 14-4 mark in duals, and she was 7-3 in Lone Star Conference play. This is her second-straight appearance on the First Team.
Alessia Terlizzi, a junior from Andria, Italy, was named to the Second Team after posting a 21-8 overall record, a 16-3 record in duals, and going 8-2 in league action. Three times this season, she has scored the point to clinch the win for the Rattlers. A season ago, Terlizzi was an honorable mention selection in singles.

Paula Garrote (Cartagena, Spain), junior
Gia Posito (Houston), and junior
Stela Sifuentes (Eagle Pass, Texas) were all honorable mentions in singles, while Garrote, Terlizzi, Posito and Wu are honorable mentions in doubles play.
The Rattlers earned a bye in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament and will play in the semifinals against the winner of the DBU vs Texas A&M-Kingsville match on Saturday at 1 p.m.
