NET POINTS

•    The St. Mary's Men's Tennis team wraps up the regular season against a pair of nationally-ranked foes in #50 Cameron on Thursday and #24 Midwestern State on Saturday. The Rattlers need at least one victory to secure one of the five spots for the Lone Star Conference Tournament.

•    St. Mary's will face its seventh and eighth nationally-ranked opponents this week. The Rattlers are 2-4 this season against teams in the top-50, with wins over #25 Ferris State and #34 UT Permian Basin.

•    The Rattlers are ranked No. 49 in this week's ITA Poll, and are one of six teams in the Lone Star Conference to appear in the national rankings. Senior Alvaro Soler is currently ranked #75 in singles. He jumped back into the rankings a week ago at #63 and dropped 12 spots without playing.

•    The Rattlers are 3-21 all-time against Cameron, with a 1-10 record in Lawton. StMU is 1-5 since joining the Lone Star Conference, and have dropped the last five meetings, including once in the Lone Star Tournament and once in the NCAA Tournament.

•    St. Mary's is also only 1-22 all-time against Midwestern State. The lone win came in the NCAA Tournament in 2021, a 4-1 victory for the Gold and Blue. The Rattlers are 0-9 all-time in Wichita Falls and 0-4 in Lone Star action.

•    Both freshman Lincoln Baldonado (#6) and Alvaro Soler (#3) have won three-straight matches. Baldonado leads the Rattlers with a 5-1 mark in Lone Star Conference play, while Soler is 3-1.

•    The duo of freshman Lucas Castillo Sanchez and senior transfer Pierre Copin are 5-1 in Lone Star Conference doubles action. The pair knocked off No. 27 Mattia Ghedin and Marco Seccia from Lubbock Christian for the Rattlers' lone victory against the fifth-ranked Chaps. It is the team's first win over a nationally-ranked doubles team in 2025.

•    Alvaro Soler's win at DBU tied him with Jeremiah Sanchez for the St. Mary's career record of 15 conference wins (2017-21). Soler is 3-1 this season after going 3-0 in 2022, 6-1 in 2023 and 3-5 a season ago. Sanchez was 15-1 against league opponents in his five years.
