FRISCO, Texas — In advance of the Lone Star Conference Tournament, the league announced its basketball postseason awards, and the St. Mary's University Men's Basketball team had a pair honored in a vote by the conference head coaches.

Damani Claxton, a junior guard from the Bronx, was named to the All-Conference First-Team as well as the league's Newcomer of the Year, while
Lachlan Bofinger, a senior forward from Sydney, Australia, joined him on the First Team.

Claxton has started all 28 games for the Rattlers, averaging 17.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. He is the top-shooting guard in the league, connecting on 47.8 percent from the field, and ranks sixth in the LSC making 79.7 percent of his free throw attempts. Claxton has scored in double figures 26 times, including a career-high 31 at West Texas A&M on Feb. 20, ranking third in the tough conference with 17.4 points a night.

Bofinger has started in 26 games, averaging 13.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 0.9 blocks and steals per game. Against Lone Star foes, Bofinger averaged a double-double with 13.4 points and 10.0 rebounds a contest. He ranks in the top 10 in the LSC in assists-to-turnover ratio (7, 1.76), assists (8, 3.4), blocks (8, 0.88), double-doubles (1, 11), field goal percentage (7, 50.8), defensive rebounds (1, 6.62), offensive rebounds (2, 3.08), and total rebounds (1, 9.7). This is the second yearly award for Bofinger, as he was named to the All-Conference Third Team at the conclusion of the 2024 season.

The pair helped lead the Rattlers to a 19-9 overall record and a 16-6 conference slate, breaking the school record for conference victories. The team is the fourth seed at the LSC Tournament, which gets underway on Friday, March 7. The Rattlers will face rival St. Edward's, for the third-straight game and tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m.
