KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The St. Mary's University Men's Basketball team received a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award and six Rattlers were named to the association's Honors Court on Wednesday.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Carson Bindseil (San Antonio),
Damani Claxton (Bronx, N.Y.),
Eddie McPhee (Denver, Colo.),
Olaverr Camacho (Barberena, Santa Rosa, Guatemala),
Sebastian Mendoza (Riverside, Calif.), and
Wayne Wiggins (Mansfield, Texas) were all named to the Honors Court for the first time in their career.
The six are the most ever named to the court for the Rattlers, and the first since 2013-14. Both Justin Alexander and Isaiah Matthews were awarded in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.
Bindseil is a junior pursuing a degree in finance & risk management, while the other five concluded their collegiate playing careers. Claxton and Wiggins both graduated with bachelor's degrees in exercise & sport science, while Camacho and Mendoza earned their MBA's, and McPhee received a bachelor's degree in communication studies.
