SAN ANTONIO — The duo of
Olaverr Camacho and
Sebastian Mendoza from St. Mary's University Men's Basketball was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team on Tuesday.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Eligible student-athletes require sophomore standing academically and athletically, at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and the student-athlete must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must have started in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
Both Camacho and Mendoza are pursuing master's degrees in business administration. Camacho hails from Barberena, Santa Rosa, Guatemala, while Mendoza is from Riverside, Calif.
The pair helped the Rattlers reach the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament and win their first-ever game in the Lone Star Conference Tournament, finishing the season with a 22-10 record.
This is the second-straight season Mendoza has been honored on the CSC team, while this is Camacho's first award.
