NET POINTS

•    The St. Mary's Men's Tennis team heads out on a long road trip for Spring Break, playing six matches in 10 days, beginning with an exhibition at Division I foe Lamar and ending with a neutral site match against Ferris State in Satellite Beach, Florida on March 14.

•    This will be the first-ever matches against Lamar, #14 Florida Southern, Eastern Florida State, Palm Beach Atlantic and #25 Ferris State. The Rattlers are also 0-1 against New Orleans, falling 6-1 in the lone meeting back in 2021.

•    The Rattlers suffered their first loss of the season, dropping a 5-2 decision to Our Lady of the Lake on Feb. 28. It is the third-straight time StMU has lost to the Saints. Lucas Castillo-Sanchez and Lincoln Baldonado won the two points, winning at four and five singles, respectively.

•    The Rattlers have had four matches canceled this spring due to weather or illness. To help make up for the cancellations, the team has added Eastern Florida State on March 11 and Harding on March 26. The first will be part of the club's Spring Break trip, while the second will be a home match.

•    Two Rattlers are a perfect 4-0 in singles action this spring in Lincoln Baldonado and Lucas Castillo Sanchez. The two freshman have won their matches in positions three through five on the ladder.

•    Senior Alvaro Soler and freshman Lucas Castillo Sanchez were tabbed as Lone Star Conference Players to Watch. Soler was 7-2 during the fall season, while Castillo Sanchez was 4-5 in his first semester.

•    The Rattlers return six letterwinners off last season's team that was 6-10 overall and 3-5 in Lone Star action.

•    Sophomore Louis Hein led the team in wins during the fall tournament season, posting a record of 8-4, while seniors Daniel Matheu Baldor and Alvaro Soler were 7-2 for the best winning percentage.
