WICHITA FALLS, Texas — The St. Mary's University Men's Golf team moved up one spot on the leaderboard at the Midwestern State Invitational on Tuesday to finish in fourth place.
Both freshmen
Guillaume Paquette (La Minerve, Quebec) and
Elijah Galvan (Austin, Texas) climbed the individual leaderboard in the final round, helping the team jump a place.
Paquette shot a one-under-par 70 to move up nine spots into a tie for sixth place, finishing two over with his total of 215 (73-72-70). He ended eight shots off the leader, Will Tate from UT Permian Basin, who won the tournament with 207 strokes.
Galvan fired a 72 in the final round to move up five spots into a two-way tie for 13th place. He finished the three rounds with 218 strokes (75-71-72), recording a par or better on the final six holes, including a birdie on hole six, his final one of the tournament.
Junior
Baptiste Touchard (Saint-Agathon, France) held steady to finish tied for 15th place. Touchard carded a final round of 74 to total 219 (74-71-74). Fellow junior
Kongpop Kaikaew (Rayong, Thailand) entered the clubhouse one stroke behind Touchard with his 75 on Tuesday. He finished the tournament +10, 223 (74-74-75).
Sophomore Philip Hallström (Gävle, Sweden) posted a final round of 80 to finish in 51st place with a three-round total of 229 (75-74-80).
The Rattlers host the final regular season tournament of 2025, taking on the Riverhill Country Club for the Battle at Riverhill on April 7-8 in Kerville, Texas. The tournament will feature 14 total teams.
