Box Score EDMOND, Okla. — The first road game of the 2025 season wasn't kind to the St. Mary's University Baseball team as they dropped a 14-4 decision at Oklahoma Christian in seven innings on Friday evening.
The game started off strong for the Rattlers (3-2), as they scored three in the top of the first inning, but the team managed only three hits over the final six frames. Junior
Jacob King (San Antonio) continued his hot start to the year, going 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a double, while
Jacob Elizondo (San Antonio) scored two of the team's four runs and stole a base.
The Rattlers pitching staff struggled with the strike zone, walking 13 on the night. Junior
Kaleb Gauna (Hondo, Texas) moved to 1-1 on the year with the loss. He pitched 2 2/3 innings, surrendering five earned runs on five hits with five walks and a strikeout. Freshman

Braeden Brown (Sinton, Texas) all worked in relief, with Molinar and Brown each striking out a pair.
Elizondo led off the game with a single to right, and he swiped second base. Senior
Brendan Concannon (Flower Mound, Texas) walked, and both moved up 90 feet when the left fielder dropped the ball hit his way by senior
Easton Parrish (La Vernia, Texas). King doubled to the gap in left center, scoring two, and Parrish came home on a sacrifice fly to left by senior
Trey Guajardo (San Juan, Texas).
Oklahoma Christian scored two in the first, three in the second and two in the third to open up a 7-3 advantage. The Rattlers scored one unearned run in the fifth, but a seven-run bottom half of the frame gave the Eagles a 10-run advantage and the final score of 14-4.
The two teams return to the diamond on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. The series concludes on Sunday with a nine-inning game slated for a 1 p.m. start.
