DENTON, Texas — On the first day of the TWU Tournament, the No. 10 St. Mary's University STUNT team split a pair of games. The Rattlers fell to host No. 11 Texas Woman's 15-8 before shutting out Texas A&M Kingsville 24-0.
Both contests are Lone Star Conference games, moving the Rattlers to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in league action. StMU faces Centenary at 9 a.m. and St. Edward's at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday to close out the tournament.
GAME ONE RECAP (TWU 15, StMU 8)
The Rattlers scored the first point of the day, winning routine one in quarter one, but the Pioneers scored the next four until StMU was able to snap the skid by winning the final point of the half on routine three. TWU also won three of the four points in jumps and tumbling for the 7-3 lead and outscored the Rattlers 8-5 in the team round for its first-ever win over St. Mary's.

GAME TWO RECAP (StMU 24, TAMUK 0)
For the first time in school history, the Rattlers hit a perfect 24-0 night in their win over LSC newcomer Texas A&M-Kingsville. The teams competed only in routines 1-4 throughout all four quarters, and StMU won all 12 available points in the first three quarters and all 12 in the fourth.
The previous high for points in a game was 20 in a 20-5 victory over Texas Woman's in the 2024 Lone Star Conference Tournament semifinals on March 23.
