Men's Golf Heads to KickingBird For First Time in 14 Years

•    The St. Mary's Men's Golf team heads to the Skip Wagnon Invitational, hosted by Central Oklahoma at the KickingBird Golf Club.

•    From 2004-2011, the Rattlers Golf team competed at the UCO/KickingBird Invitational seven times in the eight year stretch (no 2010), finishing second once and third three times. Luke Antonelli won the individual title in 2004, while Jamie Amoretti won it  in 2006.

•    Sophomore Guillaume Paquette was named the Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Week after he totaled 145 (+1) at the Travis Roy Memorial. Paquette led the Rattlers, who finished fourth at the tournament (298-290=588/+12).

•    St. Mary's led the Travis Roy Memorial with five eagles, one more than team champion Colorado Mesa, which had four. Guillaume Paquette collected two during the 36 holes, while Elijah Galvan, Kongpop Kaikaew and Baptiste Touchard each had one.

•    The lineup for the Skip Wagnon Invitational will be 1) Baptiste Touchard, 2) Kongpop Kaikaew, 3) Guillaume Paquette, 4) Philip Hallstrom and 5) Elijah Galvan. Sophomore Zach Seader will compete as an individual.

•    The weather forecast for Edmond calls for mostly sunny skies on Monday with a high of 89 and winds out of the south-southeast at 8 mph. Tuesday is calling for clouds in the morning and a high of only 73 with winds out of the north at 11 mph. The humidity should be in the 60s both days.

•    The field for the tournament will consist of teams from Arkansas Tech, Arkansas-Monticello, #RV Bemidji State, #4 Central Oklahoma, Concordia (St. Paul), Fort Hays State, Henderson State, Minnesota State, Missouri Southern, Northwest Oklahoma State, Newman, Oklahoma Christian (B), Southeastern Oklahoma State, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Sioux Falls, Southern Nazarene, #17 St. Mary's and #RV Winona State.

•    St. Mary's is ranked No. 17 in the GCAA Bushnell/GolfWeek Poll from Sept. 19. The Rattlers earned 149 points, dropping four places from the preseason poll. 

•    The Rattlers finished seventh at the 2025 NCAA National Championship, advancing to medal-match play, where they lost in the quarterfinals. All five golfers who competed at the NCAA Championship return to the roster for 2025-26.

•    Senior Baptiste Touchard (Third-Team) and Guillaume Paquette (Honorable Mention) were both honored on the GCAA PING All-American team at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.

•    A season ago, both Kongpop Kaikaew and Baptiste Touchard were named to the Lone Star All-Conference First Team, while Guillaume Paquette earned honorable mention honors, Elijah Galvan was the Freshman of the Year and Connor McCarthy was the Coach of the Year.

•    Alumnus Emilio Gonzalez (2016-2020) secured a PGA Tour membership for 2026. Gonzalez won the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Chevron in mid-August to punch his ticket after recording six top-10s in his 20 starts in 2025. He has been a member of the Korn Ferry Tour the last three years.
