No. 15 Women's Golf Looks to Close Out Fall On a Strong Note

MSU Women's Fall Invitational • Oct. 20-21

•    The St. Mary's Women's Golf team wraps up the fall portion of the 2025-26 season at the MSU Women's Fall Invitational at the Wichita Falls Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. The tournament is slated for a 54-hole stroke play tournament.

•    The Rattlers had a strong second day at the NCAA Regional Preview Invite, jumping five spots to finish fifth with a two-round total of 617. Sophomore Brielle Burns led the team for the third-straight tournament, finishing in a tie for 14th with a 151 (+9). Burns led the entire 109 player field with 27 pars in the 36 holes.

•    StMU finished eighth at the extremely tough PGA National Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., at the D2 National Preview. StMU shot 307 in each of the first two rounds. Sophomore Brielle Burns led the team for the second-straight tournament, finishing 12th with a 229 (78-73-78).

•    St. Mary's has a gross scoring average of 307, with an adjusted scoring average of 299.81. The Scoreboard powered by clipp'd rankings have the Rattlers No. 30 in the nation and sixth in the region with a record of 26-18-1.

•    The Rattlers lineup for the MSU Fall Invite will be 1) Brielle Burns, 2) Taylor Wilczek, 3) Sabree Lefebvre, 4) Manon Verret, and 5) Sophia Perkins, and Abbey Anderson will compete as an individual.

•    The field for the MSU Invite consists of teams from Angelo State, Cameron, DBU, Lubbock Christian, McLennan CC, host Midwestern State, Montana State-Billings, Murray State, New Mexico JC, Odessa CC, Science & Arts of Oklahoma, Texas A&M International, Texas Tech, UT Dallas, UT Permian Basin, and UT Tyler.

•    The weather forecast for Wichita Falls calls for sunny skies both days with temperatures ranging from the high 70s to the low 90s with swirling winds 10-20 mph. Humidity should be in the low 30s.

•    The four Rattlers to compete in all three tournaments have similar course statistics with all collecting between 67-83 pars and 11-13 birdies.

•    The Rattlers are ranked No. 15 in the WGCA Poll that was released on Sept. 26. Lone Star Conference foe and defending national champion, DBU dropped to third, while UT Tyler is 11th, West Texas A&M 12th, the Rattlers 15th and Midwestern State 17th. Findlay took over the top spot with 358 points, while Wingate is No. 2 with 351 points, one point ahead of the Lady Patriots.

•    A season ago, Taylor Wilczek received Lone Star Second-Team All-Conference honors. She and Sabree Lefebvre also earned Lone Star Commissioner's Honor Roll honors.
