PUEBLO, Colo. — The St. Mary's University Women's Golf team is tied for 10th place at the DII Regional Preview Invitational at the Pueblo Country Club after one round in the 36-hole tournament.
A trio of Rattlers all shot an 80 (+9) on the opening day to tie for 55th place in junior
Taylor Wilczek (Surprise, Ariz.), freshman
Manon Verret (Toulouse, France), and sophomore
Sophia Perkins (Sydney, Australia).
Sophomore
Brielle Burns (Houston) leads the team after posting a 75 (+4) on Monday, while sophomore
Sabree Lefebvre (Riverview, Fla.) carded a 78 (+7) and is tied for 36th.
DBU leads the field after posting a 289, while the Rattlers are tied for 10th with Lone Star foe Midwestern State after both teams turned in rounds of 313. Neige Dunn from MSU Denver was the only player to post a round under par, shooting a 69 (-2) in the 110-player field.
Lefebvre and Wilczek are two of the eight players who shot -1 on par-5 holes, and are tied for third in that ranking after 18 holes, and Burns is second, only one back with 14 pars, trailing DBU's Presley Bolado with 15.
On Tuesday, the Rattlers will be teamed with golfers from MSU Denver, Midwestern State and Colorado Christian for the final 18 holes, beginning at 10:30 a.m. (MT) on holes 7-through-10.
