ARLINGTON, Texas — Five of the student-athletes on St. Mary's University Women's Tennis team were Wednesday named to the Lone Star All-Conference teams.

Freshman
Selina Wu (San Gabriel, Calif.), who split time at number one and two singles throughout the season, was honored as the league's Freshman of the Year in a vote by the coaches. Wu advanced to the ITA Cup to highlight the fall and is 10-6 during the spring. She is bringing a three-match winning streak into the Lone Star Conference Championship. Wu was also named to the All-Conference First Team.

She and doubles teammate
Karen Kondo (Tokyo, Japan) were named to the Second Team in doubles. The pair are 11-4 on the year and have won three straight matches together. The two are also 4-3 against nationally-ranked opponents. Kondo was also named to the league's All-Sportsmanship Team.

Alessia Terlizzi (Andria, Italy), who has had a fantastic sophomore season, earned a spot on the honorable mention singles team. She is 12-4 during the spring and was 7-2 against Lone Star foes, mainly at number three.

The tandem of
Paula Garrote (Cartagena, Spain) and
Stela Sifuentes (Eagle Pass, Texas) came on strong late in the year and were rewarded with a selection to the honorable mention doubles team. The pair is 4-1 on the year and 3-1 against league foes.

The Rattlers begin defense of the Lone Star Conference Championship on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. against fourth-seeded DBU.
