PORTALES, N.M. — Eastern New Mexico scored eight runs before the St. Mary's University Baseball team was able to break onto the scoreboard on Sunday afternoon. The Rattlers attempted a comeback, but the Greyhounds held on for the 10-5 victory and the series win, 3-1.

Senior
Rudy Solis (El Paso, Texas) recorded the team's only multi-hit game, going 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI. Senior
Jacob Elizondo (San Antonio) was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI. He was on base three times as he also walked and was hit by a pitch.

Freshman Brendan Greer (San Antonio) fell to 1-5 with the loss on the mound. He pitched three innings, allowing seven runs on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Senior
Matt Bundy (Whitehouse, Texas) worked the next three innings, giving up one run on five hits with a strikeout. Sophomore
Brody Ticer (San Antonio) pitched 1 2/3 innings, surrendering two runs on one hit and hitting three batters, while junior
Tom Symonds (Canberra, Australia) worked the final 1/3 of an inning, walking one.

A Solis single to left center broke the Rattlers (19-27) onto the scoreboard in the sixth after both seniors
Devin Goins (San Antonio) and
Easton Parrish (La Vernia, Texas) had walked.

In the eighth, Solis singled up the middle with one out, moved to second when
Hogan Heller (San Antonio) was plunked and advanced to third when
Jorge Cuevas (El Paso) walked.
Trey Guajardo (San Juan, Texas) also walked, to score Solis, and force another pitching change. Jake Elizondo (San Antonio) singled to left to score Heller and Guajardo scored on a single up the middle off the bat of
RJ Galvan (Alice, Texas) to bring the score to 8-5. The Greyhounds were able to get two runs back in the bottom of the frame for the 10-5 final.

St. Mary's returns home for the final series of the regular season, hosting Cameron beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. Sunday at 1 p.m. will be Senior Day. The Rattlers need to win at least three of the four in the series to have a chance at the Lone Star Tournament.
