PORTALES, N.M. – The bottom three of the St. Mary's University Baseball team's lineup card invoked a lot of the damage in the team's 7-5 victory at Eastern New Mexico on Saturday night.

The trio scored four of the team's seven runs and collected five of the team's 11 hits with two RBI as the Rattlers (19-26) won their first game in the series with the Greyhounds (20-25) and snapped a four-game losing skid in the process.

Sophomore
Tristan Moreno (Seguin, Texas), who had started only one other game this season, not only got the first hit of his career but went 2-for-2 with two walks and a triple. He scored two runs from the ninth spot.

Junior
Jorge Cuevas (El Paso, Texas) was 2-for-5 with a run scored from the eight hole, and senior
Trey Guajardo (San Juan, Texas) drove in two runs and scored another as he was 1-for-4 in the seventh spot.

RJ Galvan (San Antonio) also had a two-hit game, while he and senior
Jacob Elizondo (San Antonio) each had two RBI.

Sophomore
Kaleb Gauna (Hondo, Texas) improved to 5-3 on the mound after giving up two earned runs on seven hits, walking only one and striking out three. Junior
Carlos Flores Jr. (San Antonio) earned his second save of the year, coming in to get the final out on four pitches. Both
Karlo Kalifa (Round Rock, Texas) and
Cameron Hodges (San Antonio) worked in relief giving up one run each and striking out one each.Â
The Rattlers and Greyhounds conclude the four-game series on Sunday at 2 p.m.Â
