•   The St. Mary's Men's Tennis team wraps up the regular season with an important road trip. The Rattlers start the week at future Lone Star foe Sul Ross State on Wednesday before closing out conference play at Western New Mexico and UT Permian Basin.
•   Wednesday will be the first-ever meeting between StMU and Sul Ross State. The Lobos are 0-11 in the season. The Rattlers head to Silver City with a seven-match winning streak and an 8-1 all-time record against the Mustangs. StMU is also 10-1 all-time against UTPB with the lone loss coming last season in San Antonio.
•   The Rattlers are currently tied for sixth place with UAFS in the Lone Star Conference standings, but hold the tiebreaker over the Lions. Only the top eight teams in the league advance to the conference tournament and StMU has clinched a spot.
•   Senior Oskar Irdoja remained undefeated in Lone Star Conference play and improved to 10-2 on the spring with a pair of wins at number three singles last week. With two wins this week he would become the first Rattler since Jeremiah Sanchez to win every LSC match (2020-21).
•   Since shaking up the doubles teams three weeks ago, the Rattlers are 3-1 in winning the first point of the match. Seniors Jake Faryniarz and Ryan Koth are 4-0 during that stretch at line one, while Oskar Irdoja and Alvaro Soler are 3-1 at line two and freshman Louis Hein and senior Nicolas Llosa are 2-2 at No. 3.Â
•   Several Rattlers are climbing the career doubles duals victories charts in school history. Nicolas Llosa is tied for fifth all-time with 47 wins, knotting Bojan Popovic (2016-20). Jake Faryniarz is now tied with Matt Banner (2012-15) for seventh with 42 wins.
•   In singles play, Nicolas Llosa is also fifth on the career singles wins chart with 42, passing Brien Galon (2012-16), who won 41 in his career. Oskar Irdoja has jumped all the way into a tie for sixth with 36 victories, knotting Carlos Olea (2011-14), while Alvaro Soler is 10th with 28 wins.
•   Seniors Alvaro Soler and Oskar Irdoja were both named Players to Watch by the Lone Star Conference. The pair were both honored on the Lone Star All Conference team a season ago, with Soler named to the All-Academic, All-Sportsmanship and the All-Conference First Team, while Irdoja was All-Academic and an honorable mention pick.
