Bofinger Named to LSC All-Conference Third Team

FRISCO, Texas — St. Mary's University forward Lachlan Bofinger made quite an impact for the Men's Basketball team in his first season and was today rewarded for his efforts with a Lone Star All-Conference Third-Team selection.
 
Bofinger, a senior from Sydney, Australia, is tied for the Lone Star Conference lead in double-doubles with 14, which ranks fourth in NCAA Division II. He also led the league and ranks 13th nationally with 3.46 offensive rebounds per game and finished third in the LSC and 96th nationally with 5.36 defensive rebounds a night. His 8.8 total rebounds per contest is good for second in the conference and 27th nationally. 
 
He averaged 11.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, shooting 48.5 percent from the field. He also was second on the team with 51 assists and second with 15 blocked shots. Bofinger played in all 28 games, starting in 20 for the Rattlers.
 
West Texas A&M, the top-seed for the Lone Star Conference Tournament and the #1 team in the nation, won four of the six individual awards as Larry Wise is the Player of the Year, Ryland Holt is the Defensive Player of the Year, Kieran Elliott is the Freshman of the Year and Tom Brown is the Coach of the Year. Angelo State's Keyshawn Embery-Simpson was named the Newcomer of the Year and Trevor Frank from DBU was voted the Sixth Man of the Year.
