•   The St. Mary's Men's Tennis team begins Lone Star Conference play, hosting six straight matches beginning with #25 Midwestern State on Friday and #26 Lubbock Christian on Saturday. Both matches are scheduled for 2 p.m.
•   The Rattlers are 1-21 all-time against Midwestern State. StMU has dropped three straight to the Mustangs and are 0-3 all-time at home. A season ago, MSU won 6-1 in Wichita Falls with Alvaro Soler winning the lone point for StMU at number one singles 6-4, 6-2.
•   The first meeting between StMU and Lubbock Christian a year ago was a close 4-3 victory for the Chaps in their first season with tennis. Alvaro Soler won a thriller over then-#14 Martins Abamu 7-6 (4), 0-6, 6-2 at number two, while Oskar Irdoja and Nicolas Llosa won on courts four and five in straight sets, respectively.
•   The Rattlers were rained out on Saturday at UT Dallas and dropped a 4-0 decision to undefeated Hawai'i Pacific on Sunday in Arlington. Mother Nature has not been kind to the Rattlers, canceling two matches and postponing a third this spring.
•   Director of Tennis Bill Macom won the 600th combined match of his career in Arlington over the weekend. Forty-seven of those wins come with the StMU Men's Tennis team, while 70 are with the Women's team in his fifth year at StMU.
•   Senior Jake Faryniarz is a perfect 5-0 in singles duals this spring and has won his last eight matches to go to 9-2 overall. He's won all five this spring in straight sets. He's also 3-0 in doubles play with two wins at #2 and one at #3.
•   Several Rattlers are climbing the career doubles duals victories charts in school history. Nicolas Llosa is tied for seventh all-time with 42 wins, tying Matt Banner (2012-15). Jake Faryniarz is 11th with 35.Â
•   Nicolas Llosa is also tied for sixth on the career singles wins chart with 38, knotting Carlos Olea (2011-14). Oskar Irdoja ranks ninth on the list with 29 and Alvaro Soler is 12th with 25 wins.
•   Seniors Alvaro Soler and Oskar Irdoja were both named Players to Watch by the Lone Star Conference. The pair were both honored on the Lone Star All Conference team a season ago, with Soler named to the All-Academic, All-Sportsmanship and the All-Conference First Team, while Irdoja was All-Academic and an honorable mention pick.
•   The Rattlers earned the ITA South Central Region Community Service Award in 2023 for the first time in school history. St. Mary's volunteered at the San Antonio Food Bank, with Habitat for Humanity, the Humane Society and hosted free youth clinics to name a few.
