First Pitch
• St. Mary's Baseball heads back on the road, hoping to bounce back after losing 7-of-8 to a pair of very talented teams. The Rattlers play at Texas A&M International beginning on Friday at 2 p.m.
• The Rattlers hold a 66-17 edge in the all-time series with the Dustdevils and have won 28 of the 35 games played in Laredo. The two teams have never played at a neutral site, nor have they played extra innings.
• Senior CF RJ Galvan got at least one hit in all four games last week, stretching his hitting streak to 10 straight and his reached-base streak to 15 consecutive. The 15 straight games is the longest streak of the year for the Gold and Blue.
• Brendan Concannon returned to the lineup after missing almost a month with a hamstring injury and hit .500 in the four games against Angelo State. He had three multi-hit games and drove in six runs in the final three games with four extra-base hits.
• Senior RJ Galvan and freshman Dillon Lopez hit back-to-back home runs on Sunday at Lubbock Christian. It is the first time this year and the first time since Brandon Broughton and Easton Parrish left the yard in consecutive at bats at St. Edward's on May 6, 2023.
• The trio of Rattlers catchers: Devin Goins, Dillon Lopez and Easton Parrish have combined to throw out 13 would-be base stealers. Goins has gunned down seven, Parrish four and Lopez two.
• Senior Andrew Girod picked up his third victory of the year in the Rattlers' 13-12 walkoff victory against #15 Angelo State. He is the only pitcher on the staff with multiple victories and is 3-0 with one save and a 3.72 ERA.
• Sophomore Garrett Broooks doubled in all four games against Angelo State and now has 10 on the year.
