• St. Mary's Baseball heads out on the road after going 3-2 during the five-game home stretch. The Rattlers split with UT Tyler last week, before winning a 10-3 thriller over crosstown foe, Our Lady of the Lake on Tuesday night.
• Senior third baseman Rudy Solis recorded the 100th hit of his St. Mary's career in the opener against UT Tyler on Feb. 9. Solis. In the fourth inning, Solis doubled to centerfield and now has 102 hits in the Gold and Blue.
• Junior Jake Elizondo has hit three home runs in his St. Mary's career - and two of them have come against UT Tyler. Elizondo hit a solo shot in the second game against the Patriots.
• St. Mary's holds a 32-22 edge in the all-time series with Arkansas-Fort Smith. This will be the last time the two teams meet as members of the Lone Star Conference in the regular season as UAFS departs for the MIAA after the conclusion of the year. The Rattlers are 15-6 all-time in Fort Smith.
• Senior Andrew Girod earned his first save of the season on Feb. 10 against UT Tyler in the 6-4 win. He now has 11 saves in his career, tying Hall of Famer Danny Heep (1976-78) for fourth in St. Mary's history.
• Fellow senior Brett Brown has been wildly effective on the mound. In four appearances (5.2 IP), he has only allowed one hit, but walked five as opponents are hitting only .071 against him. He is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and one strikeout.
• The Rattlers signed Jaxon Mungia to a letter of intent through Team IMPACT. Mungia is a 10-year-old who is battling a rare form of cancer. His advice heading into the season: "Keep your eye on the ball."
