SAN ANTONIO — The St. Mary's University Rocket League team is making major strides to complete a perfect season by winning their first round of the playoffs against Bridgewater College. On Wednesday, November 20, the Rattlers secured another 4-0 sweep against the Eagles for the team's third straight zero-loss game.
The two MVPs from the match were sophomore
Troy Johnson (San Antonio) and freshman
Jesse Larralde IV (San Antonio), with six goals for each student-athlete.
"Heading into the semi-finals, we're feeling confident, but we know we'll need to step it up even more," said Johnson after the win over Bridgewater. "We've all been working hard and preparing to bring our best game."
Up next, the Rocket League team will compete in the ECAC playoffs semifinals on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Randolph-Macon College. The St. Mary's Rocket League team is making waves, and if they can continue, they may bring the first perfect season and championship to the program.
