Quartet Honored on LSC Volleyball All-Conference Teams

CANYON, Texas — At the pre-championship banquet hosted by West Texas A&M, four St. Mary's University Volleyball players were honored with All-Conference honors on Wednesday evening.

Senior opposite-side hitter Alicia Virthe (Orlando, Fla.) was named to the First Team, while junior libero Alyssa Koehl (New Braunfels, Texas), senior setter Cali Nims (Corpus Christi, Texas) and junior outside hitter Landri Withers (Stephenville, Texas) were all honored on the Second Team in a vote by the 17 head coaches in the Lone Star Conference.

Virthe leads the team with 3.40 kills per set and a .305 hitting percentage. She is tied for the Lone Star Conference lead with 43 service aces, and averages 1.38 digs and 0.51 blocks per set. She has recorded double figures in kills in 22 of the team's 27 matches and twice has topped the 20-kill milestone.

Koehl, who leads the Lone Star and ranks 21st nationally in digs per set with 5.37, was tabbed to her first All-Conference team. Earlier this season, she recorded 41 digs at Eastern New Mexico for the most in the league. The junior has been in double figures in digs in every match this season and in 40 straight. The exercise & sport science major was also honored on the All-Academic Team for the second straight year,

Nims also earns her first All-Conference nod. The senior from Corpus Christi ranks third in the league with 10.70 assists per set and was named the Setter of the Week twice during the season. Her 1,091 assists rank 10th all-time at St. Mary's and are 10 shy of breaking the school's rally-scoring record.

Withers earns Second-Team honors for the second time in her career after being named to the team in 2022 as a freshman. The junior from Stephenville has recorded double figures in kills 18 times, digs 17 times this season, and has 13 double-doubles on the year. She has led the Rattlers in kills 11 times and already ranks 14th on the career records list with 826 kills.

The Rattlers open the Lone Star Conference Tournament against third-seeded UT Tyler on Thursday at Noon at "The Box" on the campus of West Texas A&M.
